Love Your RV

(Jan. 15, 2019) — I take you along on a morning hike to find some ancient petroglyphs located at the base of Saddle Mountain near Tonopah, Arizona. It’s January 11th, sunny day with temps in the 60’s.

(Jan. 15, 2019) — Our rig has the standard Winegard bat-wing style, hand crank TV antenna. The manual states to lubricate it twice a year with silicone spray. It is important to use silicone lubricant because the crankshaft has a rubber O-ring seal in it.

(Dec. 19, 2018) — f you take a look at the Love Your RV! mod/upgrade and product review archives you’ll find some long lists. With our rig now going on eight years of full-time RV living, its seen its fair share of upgrades, mods, and repairs.

(Dec. 7, 2018) — The 2018/19 snowbird trip videos continue with a look at a recent 2-day getaway Anne, and I enjoyed in Yosemite National Park. Due to weather concerns, we actually left the RV behind and stayed at the Yosemite Valley Lodge. And, sometimes you need a little vacation away from the RV.

(Nov. 27, 2018) — As we made our way south along the coastal highway 101 this November the weather was sunny and warm, strange for the time of year. Usually, it’s rainy and cool and we just want to get south as fast as we can. So, this year we slowed our pace to take advantage of the good fortune.

(Nov. 19, 2018) — In this video, I show you a bit of the Harris Beach State Park campground. The campsites are set in a pretty forest on a bluff overlooking a beautiful beachscape.

(Nov. 16, 2018) — In this video, I show you how I have the 8-foot bed of our new 2018 Ram 3500 truck organized for life on the road as full-time RVers. It took me a few tries, but I think I have everything sorted out the way I want it.

(Nov. 15, 2018) — This video is a quick look at a viewpoint high above Cannon Beach Oregon. Our 2018-19 Snowbird adventures are underway and this area will be our first extended stop.

(Nov. 13, 2018) — Our 2018-19 Snowbird adventures are underway and this area will be our first extended stop. We are booked into the Nehalem Bay State Park and will explore this beautiful coastal area including the epic Cannon Beach.

(Nov. 5, 2018) — Two years ago I installed a Tadibrothers wireless RV backup camera system. I found the backup camera remarkably useful, but not so much as a backup camera. I found the killer application for it was as a rearview camera. I love having a clear view of exactly what’s behind me when towing the rig down a busy highway.

(Oct. 29, 2018) — In this first video, I take a closer look at the factory Ram M20 fifth wheel hitch. Then Anne and I hook up our new 2018 Ram 3500 truck to our fifth wheel.

(Oct. 17, 2018) — After waiting over three months for our factory ordered 3500 Ram pickup truck, we finally got it! We had decided to factory order since we had the time and wanted to get just the features we wanted at the lowest cost. Oh, and we wanted Blue. So many dealer lot trucks these days come in black white or silver.

(Oct. 9, 2018) — Each year we spend summers mostly stationary on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia. However, once the temps begin to drop in the fall, we become snowbirds and fly south for the winter.

(Oct. 8, 2018) — Each year we spend summers mostly stationary on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia. However, once the temps begin to drop in the fall, we become snowbirds and fly south for the winter.

(Sept. 27, 2018) — Our safety on the road is a big concern, so I’ve always made sure to have my trailers wheel bearings and brakes inspected and maintained. Over the years I’ve relied on the Keystone dealer where we bought our Cougar fifth wheel to perform the task. Every two years I’ve had them repack the grease, replace the seals and inspect the bearings and brakes.

(Sept. 12, 2018) — In this video, I show you a neat little wireless thermostat for our RV electric space heater and my DIY mod to install a filter in the RV gas furnace’s cold air return grill.

(Sept. 5, 2018) — Our Dometic 9100 power awning is now over seven years old. Being that we are full-time RV snowbirds its seen a ton of sun. Much of that in the dry US desert southwest. The awnings fabric is starting to slowly disintegrate at its top section closest to the RV sidewall.

(Aug. 29, 2018) — After seven year of full time living our RVs kitchen sinks have taken a beating. Made of a white plastic material they’ve slowly become stained and scratched up especially on the bottoms. I tried various cleaners designed for kitchens and bathrooms with little luck.

(Aug. 28, 2018) — In this video, I give you a look at the underbelly area of our 2011 Keystone Cougar 276RLS trailer. I show you two large square sections that I have cut out of the Coroplast plastic underbelly cover.

(Aug. 21, 2018) — A few weeks ago while I was testing my RV holding tank capacities, I discovered two small cracks. One of the cracks is in the black waste tank and the other in my shower grey tank. Both are located right at the top of the tank at the rounded corners near my waste valves.
