VANCOUVER, B.C. — Xantrex Technology announced today it was taking onboard power management to another level with the launch of its sophisticated Freedom Sequence Intelligent Power Manager.
Designed for RV applications, the Freedom Sequence offers automatic power and load-management capability for optimum utilization of available power, the company noted in a press release.
“Imagine that you’re watching TV and washing clothes in your RV and your little daughter asks for popcorn. Turning on a microwave with other loads could potentially result in the tripping of a circuit breaker or even damage to these electronic devices,” said John McMillan, Xantrex director of sales. “Unless you know the wattage of each electronic device and also the total watts available, it would be difficult to manage and operate all devices.
“Inclusion of Freedom Sequence in a RV’s electrical system takes the guess work out of the equation and enables users to manage onboard loads with minimal or no human involvement,” said McMillan. “I would recommend RVers to install the Freedom Sequence along with their Freedom SW Inverter/Charger for an automated, hassle-free, reliable onboard electrical system.”
The Freedom Sequence automatically sheds and re-engages loads based on the programmed priority sequence. This allows the Freedom Sequence to detect extra loads and turn off loads sequentially and power them back on as programmed. It is equipped with four AC and four DC relays for wider options on load shedding. It also works with different available shorepower options – 20-, 30- and 50-amp service, and even a generator.
The Freedom Sequence smoothly integrates with the Freedom SW series inverter/charger and other components such as the system control panel (SCP) and automatic generator start to form the Freedom SW system. Aftermarket installation is straightforward but it should be performed by a licensed electrician, said McMillan.
“Unlike systems from competing brands, all components in the Freedom SW system are able to communicate with each other using the same protocol and are managed through a single control panel,” he added. “A notable aspect of this product is its simplicity. All functions of the Freedom Sequence can be easily and quickly configured through the SCP.”
“Once installed, the Freedom Sequence can be programmed using the SCP by giving each device a priority from one to eight. Now you can relax and not worry about blowing breakers anymore,” said Kevin Mckenzie, of Toy Hauler Adventures. Click here to read that technical review.
“If you’re a serious RVer, you owe it to yourself to at least check out the Freedom SW Inverter/Charger system including the Freedom Sequence Intelligent Power Manager,” said RV Tech Doctor Gary Bunzer. Click here to view his video review.
The Freedom Sequence, part number 809-0913, carries a two-year warranty and is priced at $350.
