Rudy Tool helps connect RV sewers to any receptacle

Listen to this story

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — The Rudy Tool is a simple, easy-to-store device to help RV owners connect their sewer hoses to any type of campground septic receptacle.

It works as a plastic wrench to open sewer caps whether they have slotted or square fittings. The device can also be used to turn on a standard 3/4-inch water meter.

In the past, RVers have resorted to metal wrenches and vice grips to unscrew the caps, sometimes by force, which can result in broken caps and pipes, said Rudy Rodriguez, who developed the tool.

Each Rudy Tool comes with 13 built-in adapters to fit a 3- and 4-inch sewer cap. It can be stored in the RVs water compartment for easy access.

The device is made from hard polymer glass plastic and weighs less than one pound.

A Rudy Tool costs $23 and can be ordered by calling 239.872.0336.
