Micro-Air partners with Lockstraps to keep RVs, toys, tools secure

ALLENTOWN, N.J. — Micro-Air, the manufacturer of the EasyStart 364 electronic soft starter for boat and RV air conditioning, today announced a partnership with Lockstraps to offer its products on Micro-Air’s web store.

Lockstraps are security cables combined with straps, similar to joining traditional bike locks to ratchet straps. The hidden stainless steel cable deters over 90% of thieves, the release noted.

Lightweight but beefy, they are a replacement for chains and padlocks, and they use customizable combination locks so no keys are required. The straps range in length from 2.5 feet to 24 feet.

Lockstraps is fresh on the heels of two recent Season 10 airings of its product pitch on Shark Tank, an Emmy Award-winning business-themed reality show.

Micro-Air anticipates sales of the new products to RVers and boaters interested in more carefully securing their portable generators to stationery objects (longer straps), bike helmets (short strap), and even coolers (medium strap), said Russ Buzinski, director of operations at Micro-Air.

The company will also offer the locking carabiner, which permits adaptation for other uses, too, such as pairing Lockstraps with EasyStart.

“Our electronic soft starter permits the use of a low power generator to start a rooftop air condition with about the same power required to run the unit,” said Buzinski. “Small generators can grow legs and disappear in a campground. Lockstraps secures the low power generator you need to maintain comfort. The EasyStart 364 and Lockstraps are perfect together.”

Developed and tested to meet the harsh environments encountered in the roughest RV destinations, EasyStart makes limited power source operation of RV air conditioners affordable and possible,  he explained.

EasyStart is installed on an air conditioning unit to reduce the power required to start the device. More than just a starter, it also protects compressors from brownouts and quiets noisy starts, said Buzinski.

“It saves on noisy operation, too. Comparatively, the air conditioning unit without the product simply slams on,” he added. “Its eco-friendliness is an added attraction. The innovative EasyStart 364 makes for a cool home for people on the move.”

It complements a solar inverter or small generator that camper van owners need, he explained, noting that EasyStart is nominated for the RV Industry Association’s RISE Aftermarket Product Award for 2019, a prize designed to honor the best and most innovative new products marketed by RV industry component suppliers.

Winners will be announced during an industry awards ceremony March 14 at RVX: The RV Experience March in Salt Lake City.

Micro-Air recently introduced its Double Down extended warranty which offers to repair or replace an owner’s air conditioning compressor if the original manufacturer asserts any damage ascribed to the EasyStart.

“The Double Down eliminates the concern that installing an aftermarket part like the EasyStart might void your air conditioner warranty,” said eCommerce Manager Marc Gerardi.
