Meguiar’s debuts trailer corrosion protectant

IRVINE, Calif. — Meguiar’s announced a new product to its line of marine and RV care products, called Trailer Corrosion Protectant. Meguiar’s developed the spray to help protect trailers against salt spray, rust and corrosion.

To increase the lifespan of a trailer, Meguiar’s Trailer Corrosion Protectant creates a barrier that protects against corrosion on both coated and uncoated metal surfaces for months, a release from the company stated.

While many products are penetrants that leave a tacky residue, Meguiar’s Trailer Corrosion Protectant quickly dries evenly after application leaving behind a clear finish without any residue or drips. This self-leveling formula is able to cover hard to reach components like bolts, screws and tight trailer corners. Additionally, this formula will not harm trailer wiring, paint or wrapped surfaces.

To use, shake the canister prior to applying on a cool and clean surface. Make sure surface is dry and free from dust, grease and oils. Next, spray the product 4-5 inches away onto the metal surface with 2-3 passes. Apply the protectant in an overlapping continuous fashion until the surface is completely coated. The self-leveling product will spread and coat uniformly on the trailer. For best results let the first coat dry for 2-3 minutes then follow with a second application onto the metal surfaces. Lastly, allow product to self-dry to the touch for at least 10 minutes. Avoid disturbing surface while drying and follow with a touch up spray to coat any missed areas. Product will fully dry in 45-60 minutes.

Meguiar’s Trailer Corrosion Protectant is currently available at Marine / RV outlets across the U.S. with an MSRP of $19.99 and can be found online for purchase at www.meguiars.com.
