SHIPSHEWANA, Ind. — KZ recently debuted its all-new Durango Half-Ton, which was designed for luxury fifth-wheeling with a smaller footprint, the company reported today.

“The mid-profile Half-Ton is lightweight and compact, but also loaded with luxury standards at a very nice price point,” said Brent Froman, general manager. “All seven floorplans are under 12,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), for towing with almost any truck.”

The standard towing package includes a two-inch receiving hitch, four-pin wire harness, 300-pound hitch rating and 3,000-pound tow rating that allows users to tow a fishing boat, or a trailer with motorized toys.

“The end of summer doesn’t necessarily mean the end of camping,” said Froman. “Users can extend the season with Half-Ton’s standard climate package, which keeps tanks and pipes safely tucked away in the heated, insulated and enclosed underbelly.

“All these upgrades really set Half-Ton apart. Our competitors typically don’t offer these features at this price point,” he added. “The 5/8 inch tongue-and-groove plywood flooring construction is a step up from OSB, and the partially-painted front cap is a high-end aesthetic.”

Interior upgrades include maple-glazed hardwood slideout fascia, an under-mount stainless steel kitchen sink and LED TV with multimedia stereo and DVD. All floorplans, including the D256RKT, include an upgraded tri-fold hide-a-bed.
