ELKHART — The PLB40 portable lithium iron phosphate battery 40Ah is a solution for keeping a Dometic CFX powered cooler running while on any adventure, the company announced.

With many different types of users in mind, Dometic engineers created the PLB40 to be versatile. Lithium iron phosphate, known as LiFePO4, is lightweight, compact, and delivers stable, 12.8-volt power with a 2,000-charge cycle life.

Recharging the battery takes less than five hours, the release noted, adding that the weatherproof device comes with a lightweight, ergonomically designed, stainless steel carry handle.

With two USB ports, the PLB40 is also convenient for charging cell phones and tablets.

The PLB40 acts as a second battery without the cost and complexity of additional wiring and is compatible with solar power.

While most campgrounds offer electric hook-ups, some RVers opt to go off-grid and boondock for a few days. Powered coolers make a great addition both inside the RV and outside in storage areas for extra space to store food and drinks, Dometic noted.

Having a PLB40 is an added bonus that solves the issue of not having electric if boondocking, and allows for the CFX to be placed anywhere in the campsite.

The ability to untether their powered cooler and bring cold drinks next to the campfire or fresh foods along side the grill is exactly what these freedom lovers are seeking, the release explained.
