Coachmen introduces Galleria Class B motorhome

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Coachmen RV, a division of Forest River, today entered the Class B market, launching the Galleria Class B motorhome.

The Galleria Class B Motorhome Division is a standalone division within Coachmen with a dedicated Class B manufacturing facility located on Coachmen’s 230-acre complex in Middlebury, Ind.

The Galleria is built on a 170-inch extended Mercedes Benz Sprinter platform and powered by a 3-liter V6 turbo diesel engine with a five-speed automatic transmission. Chassis amenities include a backup camera, blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance, and ESP (electronic stability programme).

The interior of the Galleria provides the impression of a private jet with plush interiors, custom made cabinetry and space conscious design engineering, the company explained in a press release.  The clean automotive exterior lines of the Galleria were carefully preserved with high end appliances that do not clutter the side profile, it added.

Specific exterior amenities include an armless power awning with LED lighting and a wind sensor, 100-watt solar panel with a dual controller, Truma combination furnace/ hot water heating system, Onan 2.5-kilowatt generator, 12-volt macerator waste water disposal system, 13,500-Btu air conditioner and fiberglass running boards with integrated steps.

The cab area features hardwood custom made maple cabinetry with radius doors and soft close hinges.  The cabinets are complemented with Corian countertops, euro-style sink and induction cooktop. Upholstered cab seats easily swivel to face the companion seats for conversation or dining when using the removable pedestal table. The Kenwood “in dash” stereo with a 7-inch back up monitor display offers Bluetooth compatibility, GPS, AM/FM/CD/DVD, HD radio and Sirius/XM radio.

The entire entertainment system will run on 12-volt DC, which includes the 24-inch LED TV and Smart Blu-ray DVD player.

Three floor plans will be offered featuring three or four captain’s chairs. Sleeping options will be handled by a power rear sofa or electrically operated independent twin beds — all 80 inches long.

Color options will include two interior colors (graphite or cream) and two exterior colors (brilliant silver and arctic white).

The Galleria debuted at the Forest River Open House Sept. 22 to 24 in Elkhart.

  • JOHN GOLDEN says:

As the popularity of the Class B RV continues to grow it is not surprising to see manufacturers as Coachman decide to get in on the increased sales of this class motorhome. Also it is not again surprising to see Coachman chose the Mercedes Benz Sprinter as their choice of platform to build on. Two great companies offering a well built RV is a key to success. Good luck Coachman and build them well. Do not sacrifice quality, fit, amenities just to rush to the marketplace. It will come if you take the time to deliver your new Class B with the customer satisfaction the number one priority.
