ST. PAUL, Minn. — It was Oct. 19, 2015, when my husband, Andy, and I first left Minnesota for what we called our “great adventure.”
We jokingly told people we were going into early retirement — but we weren’t totally kidding. We sold our beautiful home in St. Paul, bought a motorhome, quit our retail management jobs and headed out on the road for the adventure of a lifetime.
Our goal was to find a place to land that made us happy and to find work that was more meaningful. We wanted more out of life than plugging away at mundane jobs while dreaming of our next vacation.
