Man pleads guilty to 2012 attack at Va. campground

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — On Monday, 42-year-old Ronald Dezego, Jr. was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint in 2012 at the Carter’s Grove Campground in Williamsburg, reports the Virginia Gazette.

The Virginia Gazette says Dezego pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated sexual battery.

Around 6 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2012, the victim was inside her camper when a man with a knife entered, according to police. Police said at the time of Dezego’s arrest that the man, identified as Dezego, “choked her (the victim), held a knife to her throat, threatened to kill her and sexually assaulted her,” writes the Virginia Gazette.
