Man attacked brother with sword at campground

BIG PINE KEY, Fla. — A Marathon, Fla. man is accused of attacking his brother-in-law with a sword, according to Local 10. Diosvany Orama, 27, was arrested Friday on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said to Local 10 deputies were called to the Seahorse Campground on Big Pine Key, where the victim told them his brother-in-law attacked him with a sword.

Orama was at the campground to speak to the manager about the ownership of a trailer when he exchanged words with the victim.  Local 10 reported during the fight, Orama removed a sword from the trunk of his car and began swinging it at the victim, striking him several times, Herrin said. Orama then left the scene and returned home to Marathon.
