Australian town completes rest stop expansion

GOLDEN BEACH, Queensland — The Golden Beach Ratepayers’ Association hopes to attract more visitors to the town with the completion of a recreational vehicle and caravan rest stop expansion, reports the Gippsland Times.

The Gippsland Times says space is now available for an additional 15 large recreational vehicles and caravans.

Golden Beach Ratepayer Association president Fran Zuijdwijk said the Golden Beach community decided to embark on the project in 2009 after recognizing the potential to attract more tourists, writes the Gippsland Times.
