IVINS, Utah — A 13-year-old boy visiting Snow Canyon State Park with his family died after falling between 75 and 100 feet during a “free climbing” accident, Fox News reported.

Free climbing is a sport in which people attempt to scale rock cliffs without being tethered to safety equipment or using climbing gear.

According to news reports, Elijah Baldwin ventured away from the group to climb by himself. He reportedly called for help before falling. His family suspects that he was trying to make his way down the cliff.
