OPINION: Airstream creates classy response to web crash

By Greg Gerber
Editor, RV Daily Report

Yesterday, Airstream sent out a newsletter that led with a a story about a limited-time offer for a travel trailer built to recognize the National Park Service’s centennial celebration. Only 100 of the special Pendleton trailers will be built.

When you combine Airstream’s popularity with an offer limited to just 100 people, weirdness is bound to happen among the company’s intensely loyal followers. Apparently, there was so much demand for information about the Pendleton that the company’s website crashed.

Last night, the company sent out another link to its Rivet newsletter along with this message:

Airstream crash response

Kudos to Airstream for a creative, funny and refreshing response to a problem that likely caused quite a stir at its corporate headquarters Tuesday.

Kudos to you and all Airstream owners

  • Paul says:

Too bad Airstream doesn’t acknowledge so quickly that the build quality of their trailers is nowhere near what you’d expect for the price and the hype they command.
