BURLINGTON, Iowa — Winegard has collaborated with DISH to develop and introduce the Pathway X2 Portable Satellite TV antenna exclusively for receiving DISH program content. The Pathway X2 delivers a true HDTV viewing experience for mobile or outdoor activities such as RVing, tailgating and camping. The new Pathway antenna is available through Camping World Supercenters and RV dealerships nationwide.
“The Pathway X2 represents the next generation of automatic portable satellite TV antennas for DISH customers on the go,” said Marcel Guajardo, lead product manager for Dish Network’s RV and mobile platforms. “Its portable design and easy setup gives our customers an affordable and flexible way to receive and watch high-definition TV even in remote areas.”
Key benefits of the Pathway X2 antenna include:
- Automatic pointing to DISH satellites
- Ability to watch different HD channels on two TVs simultaneously
- Setup and watch live HDTV in less than 15 minutes
- Enhanced signal durability for watching TV across the lower 48 U.S. states
- Powered through a compatible DISH receiver (required, sold separately)
- Option for customers to sign up for a 24-month commitment or monthly Pay-as-you-go, no-contract service option
- Ability for existing DISH subscribers that already have services at home to simply add the Pathway to their current account and enjoy the same programming on a single bill
- Access to the same DISH HD English channels available to residential subscribers
- Access to all local channels in HD
“As a manufacturer of the residential satellite antennas for DISH, Winegard has always had a strong, long standing relationship with them,” said Aaron Engberg, director mobile sales channel for Winegard. “We wanted to take the customer experience to a whole new level of simplicity and so we worked closely with DISH to create a durable, high-performing and weather resistant antenna that is ultra easy to set up and operate.”
Designed with a larger reflector to optimize signal strength, the Pathway X2 receives DISH HD programming from Eastern Arc orbits of 61.5 degrees, 72.7 degrees and 77 degrees or Western Arc orbits of 110 degrees, 119 degrees and 129 degrees. Unique to the Pathway X2 is the ability to access Eastern Arc locals in HD, a feature other portables aren’t always capable of offering, according to Winegard. With automatic toggling, the user never has to hassle with aiming or re-pointing the antenna.
The Pathway X2 is compatible with DISH Solo HD Receivers 411, ViP 211, ViP 211k, and ViP 211z single-tuner receivers that also provide power to the antenna. Users simply enter in the state they are located and the antenna will automatically tune in and toggle between the appropriate satellites.
Pathway X2 comes with an easy grip carrying handle and a security eyelet that is molded into the base. Also included is a 25-foot coax cable for extra flexibility in finding the ideal location for best reception. Since the Pathway X2 gets power through the DISH receiver, a power cable is not necessary.
