Trump grants tariff exemptions on steel and aluminum

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump is granting more exemptions to his steel and aluminum tariffs — and dodging a trade war with key US allies, reported CNN Money.

The European Union, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea and Australia will not be subject to the trade penalties when they take effect Friday, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer told a Senate committee Thursday.

Exemptions for Canada and Mexico were previously announced.

    A waste of time at this point. It will add about $5 per ton for China to ship it to another country that will ship it to the US.
