ELKHART, Ind. – Truma is solid in its commitment to the North American RV Market even though their official ground-breaking Monday morning was a bit muddy. After a long night of rain and in the middle of a snow storm, House Representative, Jackie Walorski, members of the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce and Elkhart City Council joined Nuway Construction and the Truma team to celebrate beginning construction on the new headquarters on CR 6 in Elkhart.
According to Alexander Wottrich, CEO of Truma Germany, “My grandfather and founder of Truma, Philipp Kreis, would be pleased to know that the company he started and named in honor of President Harry S. Truman has grown so much in North America that we are now building a headquarters in Elkhart 70 years later.” Wottrich was able to attend the ground breaking ceremony via Skype live from Germany.
Gerhard Hundsberger, president and CEO of Truma North America, commented, “We are grateful for the partnerships we have with the RV manufacturers, dealers and end-users who love our products and see the quality Truma brings to the market. We plan to grow our Truma team from the 20 employees we have right now to double in the next few years. This modern building will help us grow further and will offer a state-of-the-art work environment for all our team members,” he said.
Nuway Construction, a design/build general contractor located in Goshen, Indiana, was chosen for the project. According to Andy Nesbitt, President of Nuway Construction, “This project is a unique design and will stand out to those passing by on County Road 6. For the office portion, we are using a combination of ACM panels and glass to give it a sleek modern look. It is a great honor to be partnering with Truma as they expand in North America. Their products and service to the RV industry are top notch and match what Nuway brings to the construction industry. The end of August 2019 will complete this project,” Nesbitt said.
