BURLINGTON, Ontario — The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) announced today that its solely-owned Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show set record attendance reaching just under 25,000 attendees during the four-day event.
The show, which ended March 3, took place at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
The RV show billed by CRVA as “The BIG One” did not disappoint consumers and exhibitors as seen by the countless positive messages and feedback on the show’s social media pages, said Shane Devenish, CRVA’s president.
“We are hopeful the 10% increase in attendance over 2018 and reported increased retail figures from our dealer exhibitors is indicative of good things ahead and will be a bellwether for the 2019 season,” he explained.
Shannon O’Callaghan, CRVA’s show director, felt that some of the changes that they made to this year’s event really proved beneficial.
“There are so many shows in the Toronto area now, it has really become increasingly imperative to be unique and look at different ways to provide a good and memorable experience for attendees,” she said.
“This year, for example, we worked closely with a nearby concert festival to provide live music and a beer garden so everyone can sit and relax. It definitely worked as the area was always packed,” said O’Callaghan.
“We were really fortunate though to have good weather and an increased number of TV, radio and print media cover the show,” she explained. “Combined we maybe had 40 segments that showcased a really large number of dealers and RV models which really helped to give us great exposure.”
Attendees were really enthusiastic with the new features and everything from tent campers to Class A motorhomes to park models were being sold, said Devenish.
“Shannon did an exceptional job as always getting us through the show and making it so successful this year,” he noted.
The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show thanked Go RVing Canada for its online and social support of their event and for helping to #BringBackWildhood to its attendees.
CRVA also thanked Forest River, Dometic, Truma, Fish TV, Havelock Country Jamboree, My Custom Sports Chair, Aqua-Tek, Core Online Marketing, RV Trader, Cabela’s, Harvest Hosts, OK Tire and Coleman Canada for their support which contributed to the success of the 2019 Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show.
