GOSHEN, Ind. — Students at Goshen Middle School are getting their second look at the RV industry in as many weeks, thanks to Thor Industries’ LEAP program. The program, which stands for “Learn, Engage, Achieve, and Perform,” was created in 2017 to capture students’ interest in the industry, reported The Goshen News.
“You don’t need to decide now, but you need to start thinking about a career you may be interested in,” Rick Schutt, director of community engagement told the fifth- and eighth-grade students Tuesday morning.
Schutt and other representatives from Thor Industries taught the students how RV assembly lines work using Lego models. Each student had a role to play in the making of the Lego vehicles, including quality control, assembly and runners. The goal was to make eight vehicles in 10 minutes, which would require good communication and problem solving.
