Terry Vaugn RVs owner passes away

BAYTON, Texas — Terry Lee Vaugn, 65, passed away November 6 surrounded by his loving family. He will be best remembered for his faith, love and generosity.

Vaugn was born Aug. 1, 1953, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Sidney and Anita Vaughn. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cathy Hatfield Vaugn, four sons and a daughter.

The South Houston High School alumnus attended the Houston Bible Training Work was ordained as a Church of Christ minister in May 1978. He served as a minister of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Brookhaven, Massachusetts, from 1978-1982.

He then moved back to the Houston area where he began a new career in mobile homes and recreational vehicle sales. The first Terry Vaugn RVs location opened Aug. 1, 1988, in Bayton, Texas. He later expanded to Houston, Spring and Alvin locations.

The family plans to continue operating the business with the same standards and values as established by Terry.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. South Main Baptist church in Pasedena, Texas. Flowers that are donated will be shared with local nursing homes and shut-ins following his celebration of life. Donations can also be made in Vaugn’s name to the NamikangoMission.org.
