Tariffs threaten America’s booming RV industry

UNITED STATES — RVs are having a moment in America, but President Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum threaten to hobble the industry, reported CNN Money.

Trump announced last week that the administration would follow through with 25 percent tariffs on imported steel and 10 percent on imported aluminum. The tariffs went into effect on Friday.

Airstream-maker Thor Industries, the largest US manufacturer by sales, has reported that tariffs have led to more expensive steel and aluminum prices — and dented the company’s profit margin.
