RVDA supports Zinke for interior secretary

FAIRFAX, Va. — A coalition of outdoor recreation organizations that includes the RV Dealers Association issued a statement supporting the nomination of U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) as secretary of the interior.

The Outdoor Recreation Industry Roundtable is made up of the country’s leading outdoor rec trade associations and represents businesses that provide equipment, gear, vehicles, and services for outdoorsmen and women, the release noted.

The coalition said that, as a “lifelong outdoor enthusiast, hunter, and angler,” Zinke “understands the importance of access to and funding for America’s public lands and waters, and the outdoor industry’s critical economic impact.”

Zinke was a co-sponsor of the Outdoor Recreation Jobs and Economic Impact (REC) Act of 2016, which President Obama recently signed into law. It ensures that recreation jobs will be counted and measured as part of the overall GDP for the first time ever.
