Nexus RV consolidates two production plants in Elkhart

ELKHART — Nexus RV announced today it was consolidating two plants in order to improve quality and sustain a higher level of production at their main plant.

“Last summer, we expanded our Super C manufacturing to another plant to fulfill the large number of Super C orders we received,” said Claude Donati, chairman of Nexus RV.

“As we have delivered most of those units, we are properly adjusting our rate of production to match the orders we are binging in,” he explained.

This consolidation reduces the company’s labor by 15 people leaving nearly 200 people employed by Nexus RV as many of the people will transfer to the main plant.

The facility will be considered for a Class B production later this summer, the release explained.

“We believe there is an opportunity in the Class B segment,” said Dave Middleton, president of Nexus RV.

“This facility is perfectly sized to handle that type of product. We are nearly a full-line motorhome manufacturer and the addition of a Class B unit would round off our portfolio,” he explained. “We continue to seek ways to provide our dealers with products that can create good gross margins and retail customers an opportunity to buy products that are full featured and price competitive.”
