NAE/NWAN launches new powersports service contract program

National Automotive Experts and NWAN launched a new powersports service contract program.

The new program, Extreme Powersports, is designed to provide mechanical breakdown protection for on-road motorcycles, autocycles, scooters, off-road motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, golf carts and personal watercraft.

The new program provides new and pre-owned coverage for gas, diesel and electric units. Domestic, Asian and European manufactured units qualify for coverage. In addition, most Chinese and Indian manufacturers are also eligible for coverage.

Winnebago reps engage Escapees in Tucson

Winnebago representatives joined members of the Escapees RV Club for the 59th Escapade in Tucson, Ariz., March 17 to 22.

The representatives hosted several sessions during which RVers could communicate directly with Winnebago team members.

This was an opportunity for attendees to ask representatives specific questions about Winnebago products as well as more general questions about RV manufacturing.

The question-and-answer session attended by 1,000 RV owners. After the session, attendees could schedule appointments with the product planners to give more insight of their RV experience and share improvements they personally made for their lifestyle needs.

Four firms join National Park Hospitality Association as associate members

The National Park Hospitality Association (NPHA) welcomed four additional associate members during its 2019 annual meeting, which took place March 18 to 20 in Washington, D.C.

The new members are:

  • DCN Creative/Travels with Darley — An Emmy Award-winning, multi-platform production and content company whose broadcast properties reach an average annual audience of 46 million Americans and 235 million globally.
  • Great Western Pacific — A Seattle company that provides prepared foods and drinks for on-premise consumption. The firm also operates Seattle’s Pier 57 including the Seattle Great Wheel and Wings Over Washington.
  • Northport Affiliates — The company works with the National Park Service’s structural fire prevention, education and suppression training program including support to the NPS and its concessionaires on structural fire risk management.
  • Recreation Risk Solutions — The company is an insurance broker working with clients to understand, manage and reduce risks and to seek out insurance companies seeking to partner with businesses.

Nearly 80% of people use shopping apps at home

U.S. consumers who use shopping apps turn to them frequently: More than one-third of people (35%) use shopping apps between two and five times a week, while 28% use them at least once a day, according to new survey data released by Visual Objects.

Visual Objects’ data supports findings from another survey, which found that the number of retail apps on the average smartphone doubled within the last year – up to four total. As more people download shopping apps, the more likely these apps are to occupy people’s time.
