SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — MBA Insurance announced today that about half the seats for its 2015 RV Rental School have been taken; however people can still register for the class that takes place March 3 to 5 at the Tuscany Suites in Las Vegas. Students register the afternoon of March 2.
Josephine Johnson, vice president of MBA Insurance, said she is proud of the school and the type of instruction it provides to people who want to learn how to run a successful RV rental operation.
“The school class size is purposely kept fairly small so that students can actively interact in the overall process,” said Johnson. “Student participation in discussions is encouraged. It is more fun and useful than just listening to lecture sessions. It is the interaction that really brings the group together and provides that extra dynamic.”
The MBA Rental school covers the RV rental gamut from staffing, pricing, concepts, fleeting, advertising/promotions, and daily operating procedures. Instructors and students discuss renting motorhomes and travel trailers. They also debate the unique advantages of the two operational models — dealer owned vs. managed fleet.
“We try to provide a wide view of the rental process,” said Johnson.
To attend school, students do not need to be current customers of MBA Insurance, nor do they have to own a rental business or have previous rental experience.
“The purpose of the school is to show people how to be successful in renting RVs and to bring them up-to-date on the latest and greatest ideas,” said Johnson. “We have clients that tell us that had it not been for the school helping them to avoid mistakes, they would not have been nearly as successful as they have been.”
The instructors at the MBA Rental School are current, active rental dealers with more than 60 years combined hands-on experience renting RVs. The instructors include:
- Scott Krenek, with Krenek RV Center in Coloma, Mich.
- Barry Raye, with 84 RV Rentals and Service in Sussex, N.J.
- Martin Onken, with Expedition Motorhomes in Calabasas, Calif.
Additionally, Leslie Pujo, with LaPlaca Pujo law firm in Rockville, Md., will speak on the necessity of preparing proper rental forms and contracts.
“Come to the rental school. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed,” said Johnson. “It seems that every year we have repeat attendees coming back for a refresher. We provide a lot of information in just three days.”
