PENNSYLVANIA — The Tribune-Democrat reports manufacturing is not dead in Pennsylvania — far from it, according to a new study.
But, the newspaper says the future of the industry, where its growth lies, is shifting more toward skilled production. The newspaper quotes Petra Mitchell, an engineer and CEO of the nonprofit Catalyst Connection, which partly commissioned “The State of Manufacturing” study.
The Tribune-Democrat says precision jobs — coupled with continual training — may be the shining opportunity for the USA.
