(May 20, 2009) — As a manufacturer’s representative, companies like Red Rocket make sales calls just as though the supplier had an employee working in the area knocking on doors. Mistak said that service has become essential because with manufacturers cutting back production or disappearing altogether, supplier firms must not only get in front of customers, but ensure that OEMs are aware of all the products the supplier makes. As a result, although the number of RV units being built has declined, Mistak said his firm has been able to increase the sales per unit built for firms his company represents.
