LSI presents annual awards to Jellystone Camp-Resorts

MILFORD, Ohio — Leisure Systems Inc. (LSI) presented its annual awards to exemplary Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort franchisees throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The awards were issued on the final day of LSI’s annual symposium at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky. in the following categories:

— Camp-Resort of the Year: This is LSI’s highest honor overall. It is given to the Camp-Resort whose facilities and operations exceed all of the Jellystone Park standards. Recipients must be Pinnacle Club members, meaning they rate 95 percent or higher on the annual LSI assessment of their facilities and operations. Award recipients also must have achieved strong growth in business, implemented sustained improvements, and be leaders in the industry:
• Tyler, Texas

— Regional Camp-Resorts of the Year: This is LSI’s highest regional honor. It is awarded to the four Camp-Resort locations whose facilities and operations exceed all Jellystone Park standards. Recipients must be Pinnacle Club members, meaning they rate 95 percent or higher on the annual LSI assessment of their facilities and operations. Award recipients also must have achieved strong growth in business, implemented sustained improvements, and be leaders in the industry:
• Eastern Region: Mill Run, Penn.
• Central Region: Warrens, Wis.
• Southern Region: Tabor City, N.C.
• Western Region: Tyler, Texas

— Entrepreneur of the Year: This award is presented to the Camp-
Resorts with the strongest year-over-year revenue growth. This year’s recipients, based on revenue category, include the Jellystone Park franchises in:

• Tabor City, N.C., More than $1 million revenue category
• Gloucester Point, Va., $500,000 to $1 million revenue category
• Bath, N.Y., Less than $500,000 revenue category

— Multi-Unit Entrepreneur of the Year: This award is presented to the Camp-Resort location with the strongest year-over-year revenue growth that is owned by a multi-unit franchisee. This year’s recipient is:

• Lodi, Calif., (Owned by Northgate Resorts)

— Operator of the Year: This award is given to the individual or individuals directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Camp-Resort locations that best represents excellence in management, improved ratings and growth in business:
• Emily Moss, Cave City, Ky., in the category for parks with more than 225 sites.
• Rebecca Murphy, Tabor City, N.C., in the category for parks with less than 225 sites.

— Franchise Inspection Leader, “The Carroll Award”: This award is given to the Camp-Resort that achieved the highest assessment rating out of all Jellystone Park locations in the system:
• South Haven, Mich.

— Jim Webb Spirit Award: This award, named after an individual who played a major role in the success of the Jellystone Park franchise, is presented to the franchisee who best embodies the same spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to Jellystone Parks that Mr. Webb displayed:

• Nancy and Rich Felber, Mount Gilead, Ohio

— Maple Leaf Award: This award is presented to the Canadian franchisee who best demonstrates their commitment and dedication to the Jellystone Park system:
• Woodstock, N.B..

— Facility of the Year: This award is presented to the Camp-Resort locations that have shown sustained improvements to their facilities:
• Williamsport, Md., in the category for parks with more than 225 sites.
•. Tyler, Texas, in the category for parks with less than 225 sites

— Dan O’Connell Service Award: This award recognizes an individual’s strong support and work to improve and grow the campground industry:
• Rick Spear, Estes Park, Colo.

— Special Recognition Awards: These awards are presented to Camp-Resorts and operators who achieve high ratings on specific categories of park operations or marketing initiatives:
• Rookie of the Year, Owner: Jeremy and Lacy Stucky, Branson, Mo.
• Rookie of the Year, Manager: Janet Stowers, Nashville, Tenn., and Kaitlyn Kindy, Holmes County, Ohio
• Most Improved Annual Assessment: Madison, Fla.

— Landscaping: Kerrville, Texas and Warrens, Wis.

— Camp Resort Store:
• Cave City, Ky., in the 225 sites or more category
• Indianapolis East, in the less than 225 sites category
