Hall of Fame eyes expansion project

ELKHART — Officials with the RV Hall of Fame are considering a 60,000-square-feet expansion of event space and an attached rally park campground that could accommodate an additional 300 units, Goshen News explained.

Commission member Mike Huber said it may be prudent to explore an even larger expansion at the facility that could tap into a portion of the $42 million in Regional Cities grants, the paper explained.

““I’m not talking 300 unit RV rallies where we’d be in competitions with the fairgrounds or other campgrounds we have,” Huber said during the meeting. “But something that could potentially leverage our position as the RV capital of the world, where we could then bring international rallies of 500 to 1,000 coaches here that you can’t accommodate anywhere else.”
