GOSHEN, Ind. — Goshen City Council members recently voted to approved an annexation agreement with Lippert Components Manufacturing Inc. involving three parcels of land on the city’s southeast side.
But in an unexpected compromise aimed at appeasing all parties involved, the council also agreed to discard a second, connected annexation request involving an additional three nearby parcels owned by the company D-ACT-Z.
Tuesday’s meeting marked the second time the two annexation requests had come before the council in the past two months. Council members originally heard the requests during their Jan. 16 meeting, though the requests were eventually tabled after several residents raised concerned about the proposed annexation and its proximity to their homes. The Goshen Redevelopment Commission voted in favor of approving the annexation agreements during a special Jan. 30 meeting.
