Court orders Paul Evert’s RV to pay $4.5 million

FRESNO, Calif. — A California judge ordered Paul Evert’s RV Country to pay a competitor $4.5 million for spreading rumors the dealerships were being investigated by the state, the Fresno Bee reported.

The judge sided with Bob Brewer that Evert’s dealership and three employees had slandered Clovis RV and Fresno RV. He ordered Evert’s to pay $500,000 in actual damages and $4 million in punitive damages, the paper noted.
