MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Grand Design today announced the hiring of Matt Chupp as director of marketing on the Grand Design team.
Chupp has a 23-year combined background of leadership and professional experience in the RV industry with marketing, and engineering digital data systems and solutions in higher education, the release explained.
Chupp has grown up on the supply-side of the RV industry, coming to Grand Design from his family’s business, the Mica Shop, a countertop and backsplash supplier for RVs and manufactured homes.
Prior to his most recent term at the Mica Shop, Chupp spent eight years in marketing at the University of Notre Dame. The first five of those years he spent on the marketing and communications group at the Mendoza College of Business.
Chupp oversaw the marketing group’s web technology projects at Mendoza including building Mendoza’s main and supporting websites, digital business magazine, and complementary digital marketing and social media efforts.
He left the Mendoza School to join head coach Muffet McGraw’s Notre Dame Women’s Basketball staff in September of 2012 as director of basketball operations and marketing.
There, he oversaw all aspects of the Fighting Irish women’s basketball program including the team’s marketing, promotions, and other duties related to Notre Dame’s nationally-ranked recruiting efforts, the release explained.
Chupp rebranded the program and worked closely with numerous media entities to create unique video offerings for Irish fans. The biggest accomplishment was a 30-minute documentary that aired on the NBC Sports Channel titled “Notre Dame Women’s Basketball – A Tradition of Excellence.”
“Matt’s deep and diverse marketing experience will add a tremendous amount of value for Grand Design and our dealers,” said Don Clark, president and CEO of Grand Design RV.
“He has embraced the company’s unique culture and we are excited about the relationships he has already built with our company personnel and the direction he is taking our marketing efforts,” Clark added.
“His talent and diverse experience bring a fresh perspective that is very much welcome in our industry. His passion is contagious, and his vision is the right path to keep us in touch with our dealers and customers far into the future,” said Clark.
“We are investing in our marketing efforts and we are very excited to have Matt as part of the Grand Design family,” he added.
