Camping World completes acquisition of two South Dakota dealerships

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — Camping World Holdings Inc. has announced the expansion of its business presence in South Dakota with the acquisition of Spader’s RV Center located in Sioux Falls and New Prairie RV Southtown located in Worthing.

“We remain focused on brand expansion and top-notch customer service, as we continue to grow in the South Dakota market with the successful establishments of Spader’s RV Center and New Prairie RV Southtown joining the Camping World family,” said Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Holdings. “We look forward to providing customers with the high level of service they deserve and fulfilling all of their outdoor, camping and RV needs; from offering thousands of accessories, to quality RV sales and service.”

Camping World currently operates a RV SuperCenter in the Rapid City area of South Dakota. With the two new acquisitions, the company will further expand the market footprint by increasing Camping World’s presence in the state of South Dakota to three locations.

“We are pleased to expand our dealership footprint in this market while maintaining both companies’ commitment to superior sales and service,” said Brent Moody, COO of Camping World Holdings. “We continue to successfully execute our expansion strategy and we believe adding both Spader’s RV and New Prairie RV to our dealership network will strengthen our position.”

Camping World on the fast track to become the only place you can go to get a RV or parts and service. And, their customer service is terrible and their prices are high. Really hate to see this happening.

    • Wagner says:

We try not shop there as they are way higher than other R V shops
And they take way to long to get repairs done we waited over 2 months to get a leveler replaced on our 2017 Bounder.

Will not: purchase any type of recreational vehicle or get any service done by Camping World for the exact reasons noted above, high prices and incompetent service and/or repairs. This is a result of having using their services in the past.

  • Jim says:

The service (as reported to me by other people) at their Rapid City, SD location is pathetic. When two different customers called to complain to management, the manager hung up on them. Two different customers, at different times in the year?

I hope Camping World ends up bankrupt. They are a festering wound for the industry.
