GREENSBORO, N.C. — Camco Manufacturing today issued a warning to consumers, dealers and wholesalers regarding a problem with recently built ReCurve R3 Adjustable Sway Control products.
The notice was issued to people who may have recently purchased, sold or are holding inventory for sale any Camco ReCurve R3 Adjustable Sway Control products, specifically part numbers 48750, 48751 and 48752, that would have been manufactured and shipped between April 1 and April 10.
The company advised that a few of products may have been shipped by the factory to distributors without being pre-greased.
According to the product use instructions, prior to any use of the product — whether the first use or the fifth — consumers are advised to check the product to ensure that it has been sufficiently lubricated with suitable wheel bearing grease, the notice read.
Camco’s concern is that if any of these products were shipped without a sufficient coating of lubricant, the items could have experienced some premature rusting in transit which could cause the trunnion to not rotate.
People who experience this problem on any recently purchased or inventoried product are encouraged to contact Camco customer service at 800.334.2004, Ext. 28147.
People who need technical assistance to confirm that their product is adequately greased and properly functioning are also encouraged to call the number above.
Distributors, dealers or customers who have experienced a problem with the ReCurve R3 should contact Camco for details on exchanging the product.
