POMONA, California — This year, there will be more to the 2018 California RV Show at Fairplex Pomona than upwards of 1,200 new (2019) RVs of all sorts and sizes on display from more than 17 dealers, including 100 new RVs that will be ready for test drives when the gates open on Oct. 5.
Visitors are invited to check out approximately 130 vendor booths showcasing a wide variety of products and services designed to help them enjoy the RV lifestyle. Look for repair shops ranging from full body painting and insurance accident repairs, to complete re-modeling and upgrade vendors. Also on hand will be parts suppliers, trailer hitches, power generators, storage facilities, and interior cabinet companies, along with representatives of campgrounds around California, and outdoor products to make camping more enjoyable.
There’s also a lot to be learned at the show. Here’s a rundown of some of the 40 planned seminars:
RV Buyer’s Seminar. Learn the language of RVs, from Class A, C, B, B+, to travel trailers and more. Get tips on choosing the right floor plan and enjoy discussions on 5th Wheel versus Motorized, Class C or Class A, Diesel or Gas, and used versus new.
Traveling With Pets. Don’t bring along Fido or Fifi without first learning about campground restrictions, traveling restraints or container options, and tips for being prepared for issues that might arise. Also learn about monitoring systems that will provide alerts or even video to your phone when your pet is in the RV while you are away.
Driving/Towing Seminars. Driving a motorhome and towing a “dinghy” or driving a truck and towing a trailer is not difficult, it’s just different. Get tips for driving, cornering, and backing into a campground, what to be prepared for before hitting the road, and basic driving information.
RV Repair Club Maintenance and Troubleshooting Seminars. Many RV system failures are actually a misunderstanding of how the system works, or a lack of maintenance. These seminars provide information on proper operation of the refrigerator, electrical system, 12-volt DC house system, and others.
Boondocking/Solar. Learn how to RV “off the grid” with information on getting your RV set up for more battery power, larger LP tanks, and water supply/drainage issues. Information also includes the best RV solar system, tips on how to reduce battery usage, and wonderful off-the-beaten-path places to explore.
The show will offer convenient parking and easy access to the show with three gates. There will also be three food courts for hungry show goers and plenty of entertainment.
“This is a one-stop show for RVers from all over the West Coast,” said Tom Gaither, California RVIA Show Director. “We encourage guests to take advantage of all the show has to offer them, including our many vendors and informative seminars.”
The show runs from Oct. 5 through 14, 2018 at the Fairplex in Pomona, Gate 9. Show hours are 10AM until 6PM daily. Adult admission is $15; kids 17 and under are free. Only active military personnel are free with ID. RV Parking is available. Save $2 by purchasing tickets online at https://californiarvshow.org
