TORONTO — Rapido Group, owner of the Westfalia brand, signed a binding letter of intent last Friday to acquire substantially all of the assets related to the Roadtrek RV brand, Erie News Now reported.

Alvarez & Marsal Canada, acting as a receiver for Erwin Hymer Group North America, commenced a sale process and accepted qualified bids until April 3 to acquire all or any portion of the Roadtrek assets.

After submitting the winning bid, Rapido indicated its intention to assume the lease of one of the existing manufacturing and assembly facilities.

    Rapido is one of the prospective buyers that I met with about a month ago.

    They operate a number of RV manufacturing plants in Europe and build a broad array of quality products. I believe they will be very good for the Roadtrek brand.

      Thanks for the input, Jeff. I’ll be interested in talking more to their staff once the deal is finalized. It does sound as though the firm wants to maintain production in Ontario, and I think that’s a very good idea.
