Americans continue transition to SUVs, pickups

UNITED STATES — Americans continued to abandon passenger cars in November, transitioning rapidly into crossovers, SUVs and pickups as automakers increasingly cater their products to shifting consumer preferences, reported USA Today.

Automakers sold slightly fewer vehicles overall in November, compared with last year, according to analyst forecasts.

Edmunds.com projected that auto sales fell 1.3 percent, while Cox Automotive predicted a 2.6 percent decline.
