Crews worked to clean up around a Lexington RV park after they were carried 50 yards by a tornado from Sunday’s storm.
Round two of a series of open house events on proposed redevelopment of the Umpqua Dunes RV Park will be held this week in Winchester Bay and Roseburg.
State officials say last year’s boost in visitors was helped by major improvements at Jones State Park on Long Island, Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes region and Green Lakes State Park in central New York.
Cedar View Campground, located about 15 miles west of Kingsley Dam on Highway 92 near Otter Creek Bay, is now closed for public use until approximately May 24. Some aspects of the project may not be completed until this fall depending upon site conditions during construction.
The expansion of Conneaut Lake Park’s Camperland campground has been given approval by the Summit Township Zoning Hearing Board.
More than 90,000 people visit the 157-acre park each year, operating at 99 percent capacity, Ceroll said. The expansion will add much needed campground sites and extra recreational aspects to the park to the south of the existing park.
Colorado Bend is a 5,330-acre park with something for everyone. The park offers 35 miles of trails, most open for hiking and bicycling. Water flowing from the park’s upper regions has cut caves and sinkholes throughout the property, as well as forming Gorman Falls, the tallest waterfall in Texas. Kayakers and anglers can easily access the Colorado River, which twists its way past the campground.
Developer and local attorney John Eden’s woes about county permission for him to build an upscale RV resort have ended. County Administrator Randy Oliver emailed Eden this week that prior county hold-ups are fixed and development could start.

The waste discharge permit for what was formerly Warm Springs Mobile Home and RV Park has been replaced with enrollment of the Murrieta wastewater facility in the county’s Local Agency Management Plan.
