ATLIN LAKE, B.C. — Yukon’s environment minister says he is in favor of a new campground at Atlin Lake, but says there is room for compromise on what’s built, reports CBC.ca.
“From my perspective, I would like to see input from those who use the land traditionally, to find ways that we can build a campground in a way that doesn’t abrogate traditional uses or asserted aboriginal rights or title,” said Yukon Environment Minister Currie Dixon.
CBC.ca says the proposed campground would be one of the largest in the Yukon, with about 50 spots, as well as a boat launch.
