Wis. campground to host annual Rendezvous

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Lost Falls Campground in Black River Falls will host the fourth Rendezvous, May 16-19. Rendezvous re-enactors will show what life was like during the early 1800s, writes the Jackson County Chronicle.

The Rendezvous will feature re-enactors dressed in period-correct clothing when the pre-Civil War gatherings were popular. Events and demonstrations include blacksmithing, flint knapping, bow making, primitive archery, black powder musket shooting and trapping and snaring, says the Jackson County Chronicle.

Authentic food, such as fry bread and homemade root beer, and vendor goods will be available for purchase.

The Lost Falls Rendezvous camp will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, says the Jackson County Chronicle.

The event is free and open to the public.
