TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida and Alabama Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds confirmed this afternoon Westgate Resorts to lead its Glamping discussion panel at the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo at Disney Springs.
As previously announced, Florida and Alabama Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds is anticipating its biggest conference and expo to date on May 7 through May 9, according to the release.
Bobby Cornwell, the association’s president and CEO, noted: “There is a lot of change and excitement in the Outdoor Hospitality Industry since we came out of the recession in 2008. RV shipments have hit all-time records high over the past couple years, which fuels high occupancy rates at our member parks. In fact, many parks are reporting they are expecting to be 100% sold out for the 2020 winter season! Unique outdoor accommodations for non-RVers at campgrounds and dedicated resorts are also seeing growth in our industry, the release stated. Many of our member parks, campgrounds, and resorts are telling us they are increasing the mix of yurts, safari-tents, cabins, cottages, teepees, luxury trailer rentals, and more, as the demand for them grows. Much of the growth is attributed to Millennials, and there is no better place to be than our yearly conference if you want to learn where the industry is heading, and listen to many of our experts speak.”
The trend for roofed-accommodations, also known as Glamping, will be discussed at this year’s conference at a dedicated panel. Cornwell added, “We are always fortunate to have local park operators as well as, national operators with local presence, such as Sun Communities, ELS, and KOA, attend and contribute to our conference. However, this year we are excited to also welcome Westgate Resorts – a national player in the hospitality space, to lead our panel on Glamping. Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo offers a truly unique outdoor hospitality experience and we are very eager to listen to their representative on our panel. I’m
grateful for Westgate Resorts sending the General Manager of their glamping resort.”
“The list of parks, campgrounds, and resorts, as well as the number of vendors attending our conference and expo, is a testament that Florida/Alabama ARVC, National ARVC, and its member state affiliates, are the leading organization in the Outdoor Hospitality space. No one is better positioned to serve our members,” said Cornwell. “Even though space is very limited at this point, we do have a handful of attendee and vendor spots available. I would like to extend the invitation to any park, campground or individual(s) who have never attended our conference and expo, to come and join us. I guarantee that if this is your first year attending, you will want to come back every single year. Our member parks and vendors are as diverse and vibrant as they come, and there is no better place for networking opportunities for existing operators or those who are looking to get into our industry.”
