TX: Council requests new groundwater storage tank

NAVASOTA, Tex. — Rescheduled due to the Monday closure of city offices in recognition of Veterans Day, the Navasota City Council met in regular session Tuesday, Nov. 13, and took action on a number of items including the resolution of the cracked groundwater storage tank.

After convening in executive session for nearly a half-hour, councilmen voted unanimously for DN Tanks to remove the damaged 1-million-gallon concrete groundwater storage tank and construct a new tank. The tank was damaged Aug. 17 during the process of filling the new tank, resulting in a cracked floor. Amy Hennard, P.E. with Jones and Carter appeared before city council numerous times with updates on their investigation and DN Tanks’ proposed to repair rather than replace the concrete tank.
