SK: Campgrounds prepare for May long weekend

PRINCE ALBERT, Saskatchewan — With an extra day to spend time with friends and loved ones, Victoria Day long weekend serves an occasion for families to camp outdoors.

While one Saskatchewan campground doesn’t appear to have an abnormally large crowd coming its way, a fair number of campers are expected to make their way out.

“We don’t have a resort and it’s not so much a destination campground as provincial parks are, but what we find is our biggest bonus for people is being centrally located,” Executive Director of the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce Brent Fitzpatrick told Northeast Now. “They have no water and there’s no amenity, but it’s such a centralized place to be that it’s very popular already.”
