OR: Port considers major renovation to replace aging blue sheds

FLORENCE, Ore. — The February Port of Siuslaw Board of Commission meeting on Wednesday saw commissioners continue discussions regarding a major modification to the physical layout of the campground, which could result in a significant increase in revenue at the facility.

At the port’s January meeting, Port Manager David Huntington suggested that commissioners consider the destruction and removal of three large storage facilities, commonly referred to as the “blue sheds,” and replacing those buildings with campsites. That discussion continued this week.
