New shelters shade lake fishers in Pratt, Kan.

PRATT, Kan. — Things are a bit shadier at the Pratt County Veterans Memorial Lake. Three new shelters have been installed on piers to provide protection from the summer sun.

Nick Birdsong, lake supervisor, said the green-topped shelters each cover a picnic table and there is also a fire ring at each pier. This is the last of the shelters to be put into place.
