N.Y.: Volunteers sought for ‘I love my park day’ cleanup at campground

CRANBERRY LAKE, N.Y. — New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is seeking volunteers for the eighth annual “I Love My Park Day” on May 4.

“I Love My Park Day” is a statewide event sponsored by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Parks & Trails New York to enhance parks, historic sites, and public lands by raising awareness and visibility of the state’s outdoor recreation assets and their needs.

Locally, an event is planned from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Cranberry Lake Campground. Volunteers will help with planting trees, raking, campsite cleanup; and picnic table replacement.
