MD: Breezy Point’s beach, campgrounds to be restored

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Board of Commissioners authorized a budget adjustment of $66,500 to restore Breezy Point Beach and Campground.

Multiple weather events over last summer caused beach erosion rendering 10 campsites unsafe and unusable.

“It needs to be done. It has to happen. It’s a beautiful area, but it’s been taking a beating year after year,” Commissioner Mike Hart (R) said, referring to the excessive rainfall. “It’s going to cost us much more in the future if we don’t address it.”
