Iowa: RV park proposed at former Clear Lake gravel pit

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — Two Clear Lake businessmen have proposed a recreational vehicle park and storage facility on an 86-acre swath of former sand and gravel pits on the city’s east side, Globe Gazette reported.

The site is south of Highway 122 and just east of Interstate 35 on what was once Clear Lake Sand and Gravel.

Property owner Aaron Andrews, of Clear Lake Materials, and business partner Erick Molstad, of Charlson Excavating, both in Clear Lake, say the concept calls for 150 camping spots to be built over the next three years.
