Indiana campground to build cabins around 20-acre lake

HAMILTON COUNTY, Indiana — With recreational activities being rapidly added at 750-acre Strawtown Koteewi Park in Hamilton County, a developer is betting that visitors might want to stay longer than an afternoon, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Bruce Oldham and Sean Cannon of Strawtown Property Management plan to build 50 small rental cabins, campsites and a 20-acre man-made lake on private property next to the public park, north of Noblesville along Strawtown Avenue near Ind. 37.

“So much has been added to Koteewi park that it has activities year-round now and people are itching to get back into nature, so this meets that need,” Oldham said. ”It will also give people who’d like to stay overnight an option other than at hotels, which are usually booked up anyway.”
