Idaho’s Village of Trees to host Zombie Apocalypse Run

DECLO, Idaho — It’s easy for many to run five miles, writes the Weekly News Journal. But a real challenge for avid runners comes in the form of the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse Run, being held Oct. 19 at Village of Trees RV Resort in Delco.

Heyburn’s Kevin George created the run, which comes with numerous obstacles, including a spider web and a cargo net, says the Weekly News Journal.

“There’s one obstacle called ‘the half pipe.’ It’s on a canal where they start on top of the canal and go down. They run back and forth in and across a canal. There’s lots of mud,” George said.

The event costs $35 to register online and $40 that day. Prizes like tickets to the Albion Haunted House will be awarded, says the Weekly News Journal. Everybody gets an embroidered beanie cap with the words “protect your brains” written on the back.
